CALLING ALL PARENTS
The Winston Churchill School PTA will be holding it's Annual AGM on MONDAY 17th OCTOBER at 7.30pm in the staff room Everyone welcome.
We are particularly looking for parents who are willing to become involved with the PTA from years 7, 8 and 9. If you are able to spare a couple of hours every 6 weeks or so, we would love to have you join us.
The PTA is a valuable resource to the school - however, we are in need of parents, and particulary someone who would be willing to take on the role of Treasurer and Secretary for this year, and Chairperson from next September.
Unfortunately if we do not get better, and regular support from you, the parents - then the very real fact is that PTA will cease in July 2012 - which will mean no prom for the current year 10 children next year and subsquent years.
Please support us, and help us keep the PTA alive.
It's never been easier to make a donation to the PTA!
Year 11 Prom
The year 11 Prom is a tremendously successful annual event for all Year 11 school leavers. The Winston Churchill students look forward to the event from as easly as their year 10. The events are similar to how we all envisage the famous US style proms with a fantastic setting, great food and a professional photographer. The event is completely organised by the PTA. It is essential that the PTA continues to function to provide this wonderful chance to for our students to say goodbye to their friends in style. We therefore need your support. Please come along to the PTA meetings - you will be most welcome and it's also a great chance to get to know the school better.
The purpose of the Winston Churchill School PTA is to:
- Develop extended relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school
- Engage in activities that support and advance the education of pupils at the school
- Provide and assist in the provision of facilities or items for education at the school (not provided by statutory funds) as the committee in consultation with the school may determine
The PTA is comprised purely of volunteers, themselves parents of pupils, who attend Winston Churchill school. The meetings are often attended by the Headmaster, David Smith, and sometimes by teachers and other school representatives, such as school prefects.
The PTA is always looking for more help and input. We are always keen to discuss and develop new ideas on how we can further enhance the education and procreation of the pupils.
Please feel welcome to come along to any future PTA meetings. The meetings are very informal, often held in the school's staff room and gives you a real chance to make an impact, and have a say, in dricing the school forward in the ultimate aim to makes a pupil's time at Winston Churchill school as beneficial and enjoyable as possible.
Contact us for more details on how you can help or pop along to a scheduled meeting.
